November 2017 Champ Chatter

Many conversations that I have with children include me asking them what they feel their “job or role” is when they come to school.  While I want children to have a great time, build positive relationships with teachers, and make many memories as students of Moorefield Intermediate School; my main goal is to ensure they are learning.  Therefore, the answer to the question should be that the most important job/role a student has at MIS is to be a learner.  However, learning does not stop when school ends.  Below I have listed some educational activities that can help your child be a successful learner.

Read every night (at least 20 minutes)

Practice math facts (Students need to be able to add/subtract/multiply and divide fluently.) This can be done with board games, flash cards, dominoes, and by rolling dice.
